Guides › Launchpad and minting
Before you mint
- It's real money
- Practice mode can't mint: a mint creates a new NFT on chain and is paid in real coins. Switch to Real to mint.
- You need a wallet
- Sign in for a free FloorFeed wallet, or connect your own. FloorFeed never holds your keys, your coins or your NFTs, and never holds the mint money: it goes from your wallet to the collection's contract.
- Checked first
- Every mint is run against the chain as you before your wallet sees it, and FloorFeed only hands your wallet mints it can verify. Anything else finishes on OpenSea or the project's site.
- What you pay
- The price, the network fee, and on FloorFeed launches 0.0001 ETH per NFT. Every amount is shown before you confirm. Holder perks cut FloorFeed's trading fees, not the launchpad mint fee.
- Free mints, no gas
- On a free FloorFeed launch phase for signed-in accounts (members, holders or airdrop claims) on Base, Robinhood Chain and the other low-fee networks, FloorFeed sends your wallet the network fee if it can't cover it, so the mint panel says "FloorFeed pays the network fee". Up to two mints a day per account and per wallet, when the fee is under 10 cents, and only for wallets linked to your account. You still sign the mint yourself.
- The risk
- Most new NFTs lose value. Check the creator, the contract and the links, and be wary of unverified drops that copy a known name.
Tip: Every mint is logged in Activity on the Portfolio, from Pending to Confirmed, with a link to the transaction.
